Whitman is a town in Plymouth County and is located about 20 miles south of Boston. The town was incorporated in 1875 and prior to that, it was part of the town of Abington. Before adopting the name Whitman, the town was known as Little Comfort. As residents of Whitman and the surrounding towns may remember, the town was home to children’s amusement park King’s Castle Land from 1968 to 1994.
